So many things done
Busy + lazy = no update! Sorry for the lack of news these days but I was quite busy, and I have to confess a little bit lazy. I did not really wanted to write anything after work and my WE were always full of activities. So many things happened since the last update... That's how I realize that is been a really long time that I didnt update. I will try to sum up 1 month and a half.
Middle May, I get my PADI! Yes I did it... Quite crazy for someone who hates to put her head under water. But I am happy that I have my passport to the underwater world. Really fascinating and I really want to go diving soon (I will probably go to Perenthian in July).
Then, Vincent (a friend from university) came to visit me and we went together to Cambodia, Penang and Langawi! It was really great, we had a really good time. In Cambodia, the Angkor temples are really amazing... I really enjoy this trip and we also met some nice people...
In June, I was supposed to have a break. All these trips were a little bit tiring... So I decided to spend one month in S'pore! But you know me, if I have an opportunity to travel I will take it. That is exactly what happened and I went to Bangkok with Maia. I spent the WE there and it was really cool. the city is too polluted and noisy but I liked it. At least you feel there is a life over there.
Then the last but not the least: parties in S'pore! Just have a look to the pictures and you will easily understand the meaning of the word "party"! I am having a lot of fun here in S'pore and I am really happy because some of my friends managed to visit me. It is always great to be with my friends in S'pore, so I can share with them my new life here.
I uploaded quite a lot of pictures on picasa, you can easily access to them by clicking on the follwoing link: pics
Bali - May 2008
Bali... It sounds like a dream. The island that everyone knows! I went there for a week end and it was great. I went to Ubud, that is a small city in the middle of the island (so i dodnt go to the beach). I enjoy the peacefull that is overthere, see the rice fields, eat some good food and relax. The place is nice but you can have a look to the pics.
Building houses
As you can see I spent quite a difficult WE helping to build a house! It was an initiative from my company: to send 12 employees to a program called "humanity to habitat". The objective of this association is to help people to build their houses. So during the we my colleagues and I went 2 days to Batam (an Indonesian island 1h away by ferry from Singapore). My colleagues and I were expecting something easy as building the wall (putting the bricks together...). But not at all, we were assigned to do the foundation!! So imagine us digging, breaking wall with a hammer and do cement...). It was a quite physically work but it was also a good fun! It was a good opportunity to meet some other people from the company and I had a really good time with Wehda and Jocelyn... hehehe. As usual I uploaded the pics here.
Sandrini in Malaysia!
I did it!! I succeed to leave S'pore!! wow... I went to Malaysia with Guillaume and Julien for the Chinese New Year. It was a quite big adventure because we didnt book any ticket or hotels... So at the begining we were a little bit worried about what will happens to us but finally everything was great.
First, we went to Johor [the closest Malaysian city to S'pore] and bought a ticket bus to Cameron highlands. We stayed there 2 days and then we went to Penang (2 days also). I think that we spent around 20h in buses/taxi, but it worths it. You can have a look to pics here.
Life is quite strange sometimes…
My cousin, 24 years old, the cutest guy I knew, committed suicide last week… It is so strange! I have a lot of difficulties to understand the reason of this act (maybe it is better to not try to find one, it is an irrational act so the reason cannot help me to understand it). How could you give up on life like that? Aren’t we supposed to try to live our dreams? Was he really so unhappy and without hope? I cannot say… For me, he will be the little brother that I never had but also the guy that could get an girls he wanted (it was so funny to see how girls stared at him in the streets… ahaha good memories on the Champs Elysees…). Now, I have only one hope: that he is happy where he is now. Maybe is in heaven, maybe he will reincarnate or maybe nothing… I cannot tell. But I wish him a peaceful rest. This kind of acts makes you thinking about life. What are my priorities? What are my dreams? Should I call my parents more often? Should I tell to my friends that I love them? Should I make peace with the ex-friends?... At the moment, I do not have any clear answer to all that. The only thing I know is that m head hurts for a week and it is the first time that happens to me!! It is really not cool and I understand better why Ilham was always complaining about it
A quick update...
As always,
I do not have a lot of time to update my blog… So I will try to be
quick, these days I had great time and lotz of fun (especially on WE)…
So
for my birthday, I went to Bintan (an Indonesian Island close to
Singapore)… I was there with my 2 flat mates, Vai and CP. It was ok but
I have to confess that I miss a lot my family and friends! But I know
that we will do something when I will be back to Paris! Hehe
What
else happened? I went to D&D (dinner and dance) of my company and
it was fun because a lot of people was dressed up. But the best part
was when we went to party!!! Just checked out the pics! They are really
fun.
Then this WE, I organize the “chandeleur” at my place! So we ate salty and sweaty crepes!! It was so good to eat again this… yummy… Then on Sunday, we went for a 4h walk!! And ½ of the walk was under the rain. So imagine!! I was completely wet Hopefully I get home and took a very very warm bath… The WE is over and I am so tired… I have no idea how I will succeed to get up tomorrow! Life is too hard!!
Busy, busy...
Since
my come back from Paris, I have been quite busy in S'pore... So that is
why I almost did not give news to anyone. In fact, as my days are too
busy, i am most of the time too tired to write anything when I am back
home(I know that is bad}.
I will try to sumarize the good and bad news:
GOOD NEWS
-
I lost my pone and 3 sweet students give me the phone back!! I did not
reall believe it at the beginning... very crazy, but I was really happy
- I am still having a lot of fun: parties, king's cake (galettes des rois), housewarming's friend, sport...
BAD NEWS
- My camera is broken!!! I am so sad!! that' s really annoying... So now I have to buy a new one.
- I am not in a really good mood curently... I am not too sure about what happened to me but I think that I need to rest.
2 weeks in Paris
I
have been in Paris for Christmas and New Year. That was really great. I
get some good time with my family and friend. The only bad point was
the temperature!! It was really too cold for me (-5degrees when I
arrived). I lost almost degrees 30 degrees in 24h!! Hopefully there was
a very big blue sky and lot s of sun. Unfortunately at this period the
days are too small (the sun was gone at 4.30pm!!).
My
first week was at work, but it was quite cool to work in another
office. It allows me to meet lots of my coworkers and make some good
progress on the different projects that I an in charge of.
The
second week was my real holiday week! I get the chance to see all of
friends and spend some quality time with them. As usual, I visit some
of my favorite’s places as Montmartre and Le Marais… But one of the
things that I didn’t like was the smoke!! People were still allowed to
smoke in bars and restaurants so it was very nasty. I realize that I
cannot stand this smell anymore. Smoke hurts my eyes and I got some
difficulties to breath properly after a while… But next I am in Paris,
it will be forbidden to smoke in the entire public place! Hehehe

Changi Beach
Another
great day in Singapore!! This time I tried wake-boarding… One
conclusion: I prefer to be in the boat than under the water! LOL
Hope that I will succeed to do it one time.
Then, with the crazy team, we did a bbq on Changi beach. It
was a really great afternoon. Lots of fun… All my pics are here.
